Program policies overview
I provide preschool during the school year for the enrichment of the childcare environment. The activities include:
- Art & Small Motor – cut, paste, color, draw, etc.
- Music & Large Muscle – radio, cassette tapes, videos, singing, dancing, exercise
- Language & Dramatic Play – story telling, play-acting & discussion
- Letter, Number Recognition & Handwriting – worksheets - letters, numbers, matching, etc.
- Math – counting, sorting, positional concepts
- Manipulative – lacing, tracing, cutting
- Blocks – Duplos, magnetic blocks
- Group Games
I provide care to a small number of children. In a safe, warm, loving, nurturing, home-like environment. Other activities are spontaneous but we adhere to a daily routine. I do not believe that children need constant entertainment or rigid structure. TV is very limited. I try to maintain a positive atmosphere and allow them the opportunity to broaden their imagination and expand their creativity.
